OPEN MEETING: On January 22nd we explored the patient narrative and social media, particularly the advantages of sharing your patient or caregiver narrative online. Some attendees had limited experience with social channels like Twitter or Facebook, while others had varied experiences with social media.
We learned that social media can help some make decisions about healthcare, provide online spaces for community, or help us navigate an often confusing system. Additionally, social media can provide for open dialogue between patient and provider communities. We saw examples and learned more about Forums, Twitter, Facebook and more.
