Gone are the days of “just do what the doctor says.” PULSE of NY, a patient advocacy group based in New York, is training patients to effectively communicate their healthcare stories to clinicians with the goal of reducing diagnostic errors. The group's advice to clinicians: “first listen, the patient is giving you the answer”.
